Djokovic’s home country Serbia is a notoriously anti-gay country, though LGBT people are protected under a 2009 blanket anti-discrimination law and they are allowed to serve openly in the military, so Djokovic’s hug of the boy demonstrates that not all Serbians are anti-gay.
