No federal contractor (sexuality) nondiscrimination executive order near-term, says the White House. Massive sigh.
A senior administration official told D.C. LGBT publication Metro Weekly:
While it is not our usual practice to discuss Executive Orders that may or may not be under consideration, we do not expect that an Executive Order on LGBT non-discrimination for federal contractors will be issued at this time. We support legislation that has been introduced and we will continue to work with congressional sponsors to build support for it.
Both The New York Times (“Sin of Omission”) + The Washington Post (“Stop Playing It Cute On Gay Rights”) also gave the administration a proper pen-lashing.
Allow me to get on my soapbox for a second. I’ll hide it after the jizzump in case you are more interested in the headline than my opinion.
