No federal contractor (sexuality) nondiscrimination executive order near-term, says the White House. Massive sigh.

A senior administration official told D.C. LGBT publication Metro Weekly:

While it is not our usual practice to discuss Executive Orders that may or may not be under consideration, we do not expect that an Executive Order on LGBT non-discrimination for federal contractors will be issued at this time. We support legislation that has been introduced and we will continue to work with congressional sponsors to build support for it.

Both The New York Times (“Sin of Omission”) + The Washington Post (“Stop Playing It Cute On Gay Rights”) also gave the administration a proper pen-lashing.

Allow me to get on my soapbox for a second. I’ll hide it after the jizzump in case you are more interested in the headline than my opinion.

Following CNN’s suspension of popular political analyst Roland S. Martin for his controversial Super Bowl tweets, The New York Times visual Op-Ed columnist Charles M. Blow penned a fantastic opinion piece on the matter called “Real Men + Pink Suits.”

There are too many bruised ribs and black eyes and buried bodies for the targets of this violence to just lighten up and laugh. […] Words have power. And power recklessly exerted has consequences. It’s not about being politically correct. It’s about being sensitive to the plight of those being singled out. We can’t ask the people taking the punches to also take the jokes. And it’s about understanding that masculinity is wide enough and deep enough for all of us to fit in it. But society in general, and male culture in particular, is constantly working to render it narrow and shallow. We have shaved the idea of manhood down to an unrealistic definition that few can fit in it with the whole of who they are, not without severe constriction or self-denial. The man that we mythologize in the backs of our minds is a cultural concoction, an unattainable ideal, a perfect specimen of muscles and fearlessness and daring. Square-jawed and well-rounded. Potent and passionate. Sensitive but not sentimental. And, above all else, unwaveringly heterosexual and without even a hint of softness. A vast majority of men will never be able to be all these things all the time, but they shouldn’t be made to feel less than a man because of it.

THIS! I am glad to see such an astute ANALysis of America’s complex, often unmanageable view of masculinity. Martin is a scapegoat, yes, but the reasons behind his suspension demonstrate how much Americans fear masculinity.

How easily our society demonizes those that do not fit the aforementioned nigh-unattainable standards. As Blow noted, we are our own worst enemy. We allow our views of masculinity to mold our cultural attitudes into the narrow-minded tunnel of misunderstanding + anger. We need to stop drinking the haterade and start eating some humble pie. How can we raise our children to be loving, dutiful citizens if we encourage people to select + interpret religious passages to discriminate. How can we allow hate crimes legislation to stalemate on government floors? Hate cannot beget love. We need to love all despite how they fit into some subjective filter. One love.

Femcee Azealia Banks came out as bisexual!

Ms. Banks told The New York Times:

I’m not trying to be, like, the bisexual, lesbian rapper. I don’t live on other people’s terms.

Not only does electro hop joint “212” BEAST like an African jungle but now that she’s an out + proud bisexual, I am loving her even more. Let’s hope she’s not a Cynthia Nixon bisexual. She’s about to BLOW a big dick a bushy pussy!

BONUS: Check out Ms. Banks’ upcoming club banger single, “Liquorice,” with a forthcoming music video by international fashion designer Nicola Formichetti (MUGLER creative director + Lady Gaga collaborator.

Cynthia Nixon needs a big case of STFU gravy on a biscuit. Looks like it’s [BI]Sex + the Shitty.

First, she told The New York Times:

I gave a speech recently, an empowerment speech to a gay audience, and it included the line ‘I’ve been straight and I’ve been gay, and gay is better.’ And they tried to get me to change it, because they said it implies that homosexuality can be a choice. And for me, it is a choice. I understand that for many people it’s not, but for me it’s a choice, and you don’t get to define my gayness for me. A certain section of our community is very concerned that it not be seen as a choice, because if it’s a choice, then we could opt out. I say it doesn’t matter if we flew here or we swam here, it matters that we are here and we are one group and let us stop trying to make a litmus test for who is considered gay and who is not.

Then, she responded in an interview with author Kevin Sessums (I loved his Mississippi Sissy) on The Daily Beast:

I think for gay people who feel 100 percent gay, it doesn’t make any sense. And for straight people who feel 100 percent straight, it doesn’t make any sense. I don’t pull out the “bisexual” word because nobody likes the bisexuals. Everybody likes to dump on the bisexuals. […] But we get no respect. […] I do completely feel that when I was in relationships with men, I was in love and in lust with those men. And then I met Christine [Marinoni] and I fell in love and lust with her. I am completely the same person and I was not walking around in some kind of fog.

Though I agree with her that bisexuals get no respect, her analysis of homosexual/bisexual “choice” is absolutely wrought with self-loathing. The “choice” debate bothers me almost as much as people calling it “sexual preference/orientation.” Sexual preferring someone can have nothing to do with their feelings of love (the filter by which I always measured sexuality), not lust. Also, orientation makes it sound like we are compass points on a map. Stop trying to define me and start respecting me.

So, Ms. Nixon, not only were we born this way, but we r who we r, which is fuckin’ perfect + beautiful. Joining the defying gravity cause may not always be in vogue but we will survive whether you join us over the rainbow or not. As you show your true colors, I am here to tell you we will be free and we are telling you we’re not going!

On the eve of the New Hampshire Republican primary, below is my ranking of the candidates of the ABC News/WMUR-TV Republican debate. It’s fun to watch them rip each other apart and hear some of ludicrous soundbites.

ANALysis after the jump.
